Set up a website using Website Builder

Written by Luca Lattanzio

This guide walks you through setting up a CaptainBook website using the Website Builder channel, choosing a template, personalizing the design, and configuring your domain.

After completing these steps, your website is template-ready, branded with your business details, and pointed to your custom domain.

Step 1: Open the Channel manager

Click Channels in the left sidebar to open the Channel manager.

Step 2: Open Website builder

Under Direct channels, click Website builder to launch the builder.

Step 3: Choose a template based on product count

The builder offers two templates. Pick the one that matches the number of products you sell.

Option A: CaptainBook Single Product

Use this template if you offer a single product or experience.

Option B: CaptainBook 2.0

Use this template if you offer multiple products. Click Select Template under your chosen template to proceed.

The active template is marked with an Active badge in the Template tab.

Step 4: Open the Design tab

Click the Design tab in the top navigation to access the website preview and customization options.

Step 5: Personalize your website

Click Edit on the active design to open the Design & personalize your website panel. From the left panel, customize each section in turn:

  • Business Name & Logo

  • Colors

  • Fonts

  • Background

  • Footer

Click Business Name & Logo to expand the section, then enter your business name and tag line. Your business name appears below the search bar and in the footer copyright; the tag line appears below the business name.

Click Save to apply your changes.

Step 6: Configure your domain

Click the Configurations tab to access Domain Configuration Instructions. Two setup paths are available.

Option A: Let CaptainBook Configure

Click LET CAPTAINBOOK CONFIGURE and submit your Registrar URL, Web provider login, and Web provider password. CaptainBook uses these credentials to update your domain settings on your behalf when your site is ready to go live.

Option B: Configure myself

Click CONFIGURE MYSELF to follow the manual instructions. Send your domain name to the CaptainBook support team, then update the DNS records with your domain provider to connect the domain to CaptainBook.
