Editing your experience on CaptainBook is essential for keeping your offerings up-to-date and appealing to customers. This guide will take you through the process of editing your listing, ensuring it remains attractive, accurate, and informative.

Accessing Your Experience for Editing

  1. Navigate to Your Dashboard: Log into your CaptainBook account and access the dashboard.

  2. Locate Your Experience: Click on the third icon in the menu bar on the left. Here, you'll find a list of all your created experiences and folders.

  3. Choose an Experience to Edit: To edit, either click directly on the desired experience or use the three dots on the right side of the experience title and select 'Edit'.

Editing Basic Details

Once in edit mode, you can modify various aspects of your experience:

  • Title: Update the title to keep it catchy and relevant.

  • Product Code: Add or change your internal product code. This is especially useful for OTA connections and must be unique across your experiences.

  • Description: Enrich the description with more details to make your experience stand out.

  • Inclusions: List what's included in your tour, like hotel transfers or lunch. Enter one inclusion per line for better readability.

  • Exclusions: Clarify what’s not included. Think about customer expectations and enter one exclusion per line.

  • Experience Type: Switch between Private and Grouped experience types as needed.

  • Category: Add or change the category to better classify your experience.

  • Scheduling: Alter how your experience is scheduled (Date and Time or Just Date).

  • Language: Update the main language used during the experience.

  • Time Zone: Set a specific time zone if your experiences span multiple regions.

Visibility and Accessibility Settings

  • Active/Inactive Toggle: Use this to mark the experience as Active (visible and bookable) or Inactive (not visible or bookable).

  • Public Visibility on Widget: If turned off, the experience remains bookable but won't show on your public widget. Ideal for custom experiences shared via a direct link.

Additional Information for Customers

  • Instructions: Add specific instructions for customers to receive with their booking confirmation, like meeting point details or exact address.

  • Requirements: Highlight any special requirements for your tour, such as appropriate clothing or equipment.

  • Cancellation Policy Selector: Choose if you want to include a cancellation policy. You can type your own policy or link to a page on your site detailing it.
